Do you remember sitting at the beach, after a day collecting shells and exploring, eating hot chips and being kept company by a hungry seagull? I had a lot of fun playing around with different combinations of accessories but kept coming back to the chips & seagull. She is really easy to put together and looks quite smart with the blue/ red colour scheme. She has a hat ( hanging at the back), a lined beach bag with cord handles, red painted shoes, black painted hair, shorts and a scalloped edged top.

Colourful & sweet. Plenty of hand stitching which you can do while watching the Cricket etc. She wears bright Ric Rac with flair and holds a licorice allsort in her hands. This doll was inspired by a sketch that my sister Karen sent me. My husband also identifies with this doll as he is often given licorice allsorts as gifts by the kids, he puts them away for later only to find an empty packet or one lonely allsort left. He really should know better by now!

These girls share some pattern pieces but have details that are all their own. This pair of sisters, Myrtle & Molly, share a love of the farm. Myrtle (on the left) takes care of her prize hen while Molly collects the eggs…they have breakfast all sorted with two beautiful fresh eggs. Molly has wheat in her pocket and is in charge of feeding. Both wear floppy hats to look after their complexions. I absolutely loved designing & making these two. Again, relatively easy but a few small parts to turn such as the hen’s tail feathers and the three stalks of wheat. Lots of embroidery with simple back stitch and delicate stitched faces. The fabric chosen inspired this design. Any country print in reverse colours will work.
