Wattle is a 'one of a kind' collectable doll. She was featured as a project in Australian Homespun Magazine Jan 2009 edition as a special Australia Day themed doll. She was used for the images seen in the magazine. She has a weighted bottom to stand unaided for display. Great care was taken in her construction and attention to detail. She holds wattle flowers made from pom poms and hand made Polymer clay leaves. Her dress is 100% cotton print and homespun, embellished with a hand stitched kookaburra and lettering....kookaburra sits in the old gum tree...,has been worked on the border panel. Wattle has painted hair and stitched features. She will come carefully packaged and postage in Australia is included. Her dress is patterned with birds, leaves & flowers, and trimed with vintage lace. Nature Lover has stitched features and painted hair. Her wings are slightly padded and quilted to resemble leaf veins and she holds a wired & stuffed branch that I have tied resin coated collaged objects, gum nuts & leaves made from leather onto. The collaged resin tags contain a bird & flower image from fabric," from the Nature Lover's Notebook" is an apt snipit from a vintage book.
